What is the Great Shout and why is it happening?
The Great Shout is a Queensland-wide fundraising initiative from Great Northern Brewing Co, delivered in partnership with Rural Aid. The campaign invites Queenslanders to “raise a schooner” in support of farmers facing ongoing challenges. Following a highly successful inaugural year, The Great Shout returns in 2026 with an ambitious fundraising goal of $600,000 to support Rural Aid's vital on-the-ground services.

How much money does The Great Shout Campaign aim to raise?
The Great Shout is hoping to raise $600,000 in support of Australian. In its first year, the campaign raised more than $300,000. Doubling the fundraising goal reflects both the scale of need and Great Northern's commitment to supporting farmers year on year.
How will funds raised through The Great Shout support farmers and rural communities?
The Great Shout's fundraising partner is Rural Aid - a not-for-profit organisation that supports Australian farmers. Funds raised through The Great Shout campaign will support Rural Aid's crucial services for Queensland farmers, including hay deliveries for livestock, direct financial relief for impacted farmers and ongoing mental health support through its dedicated counselling team.
Does Great Northern only support Queensland farmers through this campaign?
Yes. All funds raised through The Great Shout will be directed toward supporting Queensland farmers and rural communities through Rural Aid's Queensland-based programs.
Can people outside Queensland still donate?
Absolutely. While the campaign is Queensland-focused, anyone across Australia can contribute via donating online.
How long will the campaign run for?
Donations officially open on 14 May, signaled by the ringing of The Great Shout Bell Ahead of NRL Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium on 15 May. In-stadium and in-venue fundraising will close on Sunday, 17 May, with online donations remaining open for two weeks from launch.
How can Queenslander's get involved?
There are three easy ways to take part:
- Buy a schooner of Great Norther Super Crisp at Suncorp Stadium between 14th May and 17th May. During this time, 50 cents of every schooner will be donated directly to Rural Aid.
- Buy a Great Northern Super Crisp from selected kegs at one of over 200 participating pubs and venues across Queensland. Each participating venue will donate at least $1000 directly to Rural Aid.
- "Shout a farmer beer" online to donate to Rural Aid directly via the link on Great Northern's website. 1 shout = $10 donation to Rural Aid.
What is the significance of the bell symbol?
In Australian pub culture, the bell is a symbol of shouting a round for your mates. In a similar fashion, The Great Shout bell is a symbol of collective generosity, representing how Queenslanders can come together to show their generosity for Queensland farmers, including by shouting a beer to farmers through an online donation. 1 shout = $10 donation to Rural Aid.
